This ambitious project is designed to facilitate travel at speeds surpassing 200 miles per hour, positioning it as a "streamlined forerunner to the Hyperloop concept." Musk highlighted the pressing issue of traffic congestion, noting that the current travel time between the two cities can stretch up to 2.5 hours. However, he assured that once the tunnel is operational, the commute will be significantly reduced, consistently taking no more than 30 minutes.
