Following the delivery of China’s first domestically developed large aircraft, the C919, it has showcased exceptional performance. The aircraft has safely logged over 150,000 flight hours, transported more than 8 million passengers, and served 26 cities across the nation. Additionally, shortened and extended variants of the C919 have been introduced. The extended version can accommodate up to 240 seats, while the shortened version features a two-cabin layout with 140 seats, catering specifically to plateau transportation needs. Meanwhile, the C909 has accumulated over 1.1 million safe flight hours, carried more than 40 million passengers, and established itself as a cornerstone model in China’s regional aviation market. It has also given rise to various specialized variants, including cargo and medical aircraft, with the fire-fighting variant already securing commercial orders. Currently, the C929 is in the detailed design phase. Furthermore, COMAC is actively advancing the development of hybrid, electric, and hydrogen-powered aircraft to drive the large-scale and serialized development of China’s domestic aircraft industry.
