On September 16 local time, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg stated that the testing of the 777X aircraft may extend into next year, but the company still plans to begin deliveries in 2027. Boeing indicated that the certification of the GE Aerospace GE9X engine seals is one of the reasons for the delay. The company reiterated that it expects free cash flow to be between $1 billion and $3 billion this year. However, due to slow deliveries of major aircraft models such as the 737 and 787, the likelihood of free cash flow exceeding the midpoint of this range has decreased.
