Shanghai Welcomes the Launch of 'SpaceQat': An Open-Source Quantum Computing Community Fostering Public Collaboration in Research and Application

At the Quantum Intelligent Computing and Precision Measurement Forum of the 2026 Pujiang Innovation Forum, the SpaceQat open-source community made its grand debut, accompanied by a dedicated seminar. This initiative, co-founded by Tsinghua Tolo and Tongyuan Quantum Intelligence and involving multiple organizations, aims to create a public platform for collaborative research and application development in quantum computing. Embracing the motto "We build a SPACE for quantum," the community is structured around four foundational pillars: an open-source technology community, a neutrally operated entity, a hierarchical mutual nourishment mechanism, and an international node layout. Technologically, it leverages the FatQat multi-system SDK, while operationally, it implements a multifaceted reward system for contributions and actively encourages global cooperation. During the seminar, Professor Franco Nori from RIKEN presented insights related to QuTiP, and a roundtable discussion delved into critical issues such as the application gaps in quantum computing and the establishment of open infrastructure. Looking ahead, the SpaceQat open-source community is committed to achieving tangible outcomes, driving flagship projects, nurturing talent, and aspiring to orchestrate a global quantum ecosystem.
