Microsoft has recently acknowledged that the Windows 11 update patch KB5121003, which was rolled out on August 11, harbors a significant flaw impacting versions 26200.9168 and 26100.9168. This particular patch has led to instances where certain devices encounter game crashes and unexpected computer restarts during gameplay. Embark Studios has verified that games like Arc Raiders and The Finals are prone to frequent crashes post-update installation, displaying error messages such as "game thread suspension" and "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION". The core issue stems from a compatibility disruption between the third-party driver inpoutx64.sys and the newly implemented patch. Microsoft advises users to exercise patience and await the release of a new fix patch or the regular September update, instead of promptly uninstalling the current patch, as it rectifies crucial security vulnerabilities.
