On August 19, Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), announced at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Robot Conference that by 2025, the revenue of robot industry enterprises above designated size is projected to surpass 300 billion yuan, maintaining an average annual growth rate exceeding 20% over the past five years. In the first half of this year alone, revenue reached 165.5 billion yuan, marking a 24.5% year-on-year increase. Currently, robotic technologies and products have seen widespread adoption across various sectors of the national economy and society, emerging as a key driver of high-quality development. The MIIT will prioritize key industries with vast application potential and strong demonstration effects, including agriculture, healthcare, elderly care, and emergency response. It will organize industry-university-research collaborations by sector, conduct on-site application verifications, and promote proven scenarios to drive the iterative upgrading of new technologies and products through large-scale deployment in novel contexts.
