Researchers at Tufts University in the United States have developed an innovative blood oxygen monitoring device. This cutting-edge gadget can automatically discern the reflective properties of various skin tones and dynamically modify its measurement parameters accordingly. As a result, it significantly enhances the precision of detecting blood oxygen levels, heart rates, and respiratory rates across individuals with diverse skin tones. Experimental results reveal that the blood oxygen saturation readings obtained from this device closely align with those from standard instruments, exhibiting no notable bias related to skin tone. The pertinent research findings have been published in the latest edition of The New England Journal of Medicine.
