On August 6, 2026, eight prominent domestic photovoltaic silicon material enterprises, spearheaded by Tongwei Co., Ltd., jointly signed the 'Anti-Involution Initiative' in Shanghai. This landmark agreement pledges to establish sales prices for all photovoltaic products (inclusive of bidding prices) at a level not below the costs determined according to the 'General Rules for Cost Accounting Models in the Photovoltaic Industry,' thereby eradicating the practice of low-price dumping. The signatory companies have committed to undertaking self-inspections and rectifications, embracing oversight from market regulatory bodies, and engaging in mutual supervision by reporting any infractions. Collectively, these firms represent over 90% of China's polysilicon production capacity. It is anticipated that additional disciplinary measures will be rolled out in the near future to bolster industry self-discipline and ensure a fair market environment.
