On July 22nd at 10:54 AM, the 'Xiguang No.2 01 Satellite (Caiyun Hyperspectral 01 Satellite)', China's inaugural quantitative hyperspectral intelligent computing satellite—developed independently by Xi'an Zhongke Xiguang Aerospace Technology Group—soared into space aboard the Yinyin-1 Yao-4 carrier rocket, launching from the East China Sea. This satellite marks the 12th addition to the 'Xiguang Series' remote sensing constellation and represents the first fruit of collaborative efforts between Zhongke Xiguang Aerospace, the Zhejiang Lab, and the Yunnan Geological and Mineral Exploration Bureau. Its primary mission encompasses ecological and environmental protection, land surveying, ecological monitoring of mining regions, oversight of agricultural, forestry, and livestock activities, as well as tracking global environmental shifts. It aims to fulfill the data requirements for extensive, round-the-clock, and dynamic monitoring endeavors.
