On June 18, Shanghai Customs revealed that since the onset of this year, Shanghai’s high-end manufacturing industrial cluster has played a pivotal role in bolstering foreign trade growth, with robot exports standing out prominently. According to statistical data, in the first five months of this year, the export value of independently listed robots from Shanghai Port soared to 8.36 billion yuan, with shipments reaching 113 countries and regions. This figure represents over 40% of the nation’s total robot exports, securing Shanghai Port’s position as the country’s leader in this sector. Cleaning robots, including floor-sweeping models, have emerged as the cornerstone of exports, owing to their advanced technology and well-defined application scenarios. In the first five months, exports of these robots reached 6.11 billion yuan, constituting 71.6% of the total robot export value from Shanghai Port. Meanwhile, industrial robot exports also sustained rapid growth, amounting to 2.13 billion yuan in the same period, marking a year-on-year increase of 39.5%. These exports successfully penetrated traditional industrial robot markets such as Germany and Japan, with shipments to Germany and Japan witnessing increases of 84% and 36.5%, respectively.
