On Wednesday, Samsung Electronics revealed its plan to join the enlarged Series E funding phase of Element Biosciences, a U.S.-based genomic technology company, by injecting an extra $175 million and thus securing its position as the firm's largest shareholder. This investment represents yet another strategic maneuver by Samsung, following its involvement in Element Biosciences' Series D funding round back in July 2024. Samsung Electronics clarified that this move is in line with its overarching strategy to broaden its footprint in the precision medicine and digital health technology sectors.
