According to an announcement by Baidu, the company has become aware that the U.S. Department of Defense has released a document wherein its Deputy Secretary has placed Baidu on the list of Chinese military-industrial enterprises. Baidu firmly asserts that it is neither a Chinese military-industrial enterprise nor a civil-military integration enterprise, and it contends that there is no justifiable rationale for its inclusion on the list. It is important to note that the list of Chinese military-industrial enterprises does not constitute a sanctions list. Consequently, relevant U.S. government procurement restrictions do not impact Baidu's business operations, nor does the list impose any limitations on Baidu's securities trading activities.
