In May 2026, Foxconn's manufacturing facility located in Wisconsin, USA, fell victim to a cyberattack perpetrated by the ransomware group known as Nitrogen. This attack led to the exfiltration of an extensive collection of over 11 million files, totaling approximately 8 terabytes in size. These files encompassed sensitive data pertaining to multiple high-profile clients, including Apple, Intel, and Google.

A detailed examination of the leaked documents unveiled that they encompassed more than 30 classified Apple documents. These documents primarily focused on server rack specifications and operational manuals spanning from 2020 to 2023. Furthermore, they included intricate structural diagrams of server components, dated from late 2025 to March 2026. The leak also shed light on the Intel platform and its specific configurations, which were being utilized in Apple's high-end servers for the Matterhorn project.

In addition to the Apple-related documents, the stolen files from other manufacturers predominantly contained technical specifications related to servers, motherboards, storage systems, and testing protocols.
