On May 11, 2026, the International Cooperation Department of China's Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the International Department of the United Kingdom's Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, successfully hosted the inaugural meeting of the China-UK Strategic Science and Technology Working Group in London. Throughout the session, both parties formalized a collaborative working mechanism, took stock of the advancements achieved since the 11th plenary of the China-UK Joint Commission on Science and Technology Cooperation, deliberated on the forthcoming pivotal objectives for the China-UK Flagship Challenge Projects, and engaged in profound dialogues concerning pressing issues, including climate change and the exchange of scientific data across borders.
