The iOS and Windows iterations of WeChat Keyboard are presently undergoing tests for a novel functionality dubbed "AirDrop-like Transfer," aimed at bolstering the ability to transfer files across different devices. The initial cross-device paste and sync capability has been rebranded as "Cross-Device Paste and Transfer." Alongside this, the new "AirDrop-like Transfer" feature has been introduced, which supports the swift exchange of images and files among multiple devices, facilitating real-time, face-to-face transfers. Users have the flexibility to opt for sending content to linked devices or directly to other individuals. Since its launch in December 2022 and subsequent renaming in June 2023, the WeChat Keyboard has undergone a significant update to its iOS version 3.0 in December 2025, with a particular emphasis on improving voice input functionality. Crafted by the WeChat team, the keyboard is designed with user privacy in mind. With the incorporation of these novel features, it is transitioning from a basic input tool to a versatile cross-device collaboration and lightweight file transfer utility.
