According to CCTV News, at 10:50 am on April 26, 2026, China's first self-designed and built 180,000 cubic meter LNG carrier, 'Georgetown,' was successfully delivered at the China Merchants Heavy Industry Dock in Nantong, Jiangsu. It then slowly departed from the Nantong section of the Yangtze River, heading towards Singapore. Built by the China Merchants Shipbuilding Haimen Base, the vessel has a total length of 298.8 meters, a beam of 48 meters, a designed speed of 19.5 knots, and a range of 22,000 nautical miles. Utilizing a dual-fuel low-speed propulsion system, it boasts advantages such as low evaporation rate and high environmental performance. As the largest liquefied natural gas carrier built in China to date, it marks a significant breakthrough in China's high-end clean energy shipbuilding sector.
