On April 15, reporters from relevant media sources obtained information from the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites, Chinese Academy of Sciences, revealing that at 7:00 PM on March 30, 2026, China's independently developed Qingzhou experimental spacecraft was successfully launched into orbit. Following its launch, the spacecraft successfully underwent preliminary flight control tests and subsequently elevated its orbit to 600 kilometers to facilitate long-term experimental operations. This achievement represents a significant leap forward in China's development of next-generation, cost-effective cargo spacecraft technology.

The Qingzhou experimental spacecraft, weighing 4.2 tons and capable of carrying a 1-ton payload, boasts an innovative integrated single-cabin design. This design enhances its compatibility with a variety of rocket launch systems and extends its projected operational lifespan to three years. During this test mission, the spacecraft's core systems—including its overall design, structural integrity, thermal management, control mechanisms, and propulsion capabilities—were rigorously validated, establishing a solid technological foundation for the future development of the full-scale Qingzhou cargo spacecraft. Moreover, this successful test opens up new avenues for the flexible resupply of the China Space Station and promotes the growth of commercial space endeavors.
