Microsoft has unveiled a fresh support document, detailing the incorporation of a Secure Boot certificate update status alert function within the Windows Security application. This innovative feature employs green, yellow, and red indicators to provide a clear, visual representation of the Secure Boot status on various devices. A green checkmark signifies that the update process has been successfully concluded. In contrast, a yellow exclamation mark alerts users that an update through Windows Update is necessary. Meanwhile, a red cross denotes that the certificate has lapsed and necessitates firmware restoration. Microsoft has mandated that users finalize the update by June 2026; failure to do so may result in their devices being unable to boot up.
