As reported by Cui Dongshu, during the period from January to February in 2026, China's lithium battery exports soared to $14.2 billion, representing a significant year-on-year increase of 46%. The export volume reached 926,000 metric tons during this timeframe. When examining the market structure, it becomes evident that the European Union emerged as the primary export destination, accounting for 43.1% of the total exports. This marks a notable rise of 2.6 percentage points compared to the figures from 2025. Conversely, exports to the United States experienced a contraction, dropping to 9.7%, which is a decrease of 6.4 percentage points from the previous year. The magnitude of this decline is roughly on par with the total export volume to Southeast Asia. Furthermore, the average export price witnessed a downturn, plummeting from $27,300 per ton in 2023 to $15,300 per ton in 2026, constituting a 10% decrease. This downward trend in prices, however, showcases a marked improvement when juxtaposed with the data from 2024 and 2025.
