According to the latest report from Omnissa, within enterprise settings, Windows devices demonstrate significantly lower stability compared to their macOS counterparts. To be specific, Windows devices suffer from 3.1 times more instances of forced shutdowns, 2.2 times more application crashes, and a staggering 7.5 times more application freezes than macOS devices. The findings are derived from anonymous telemetry data collected from millions of end-user devices over the course of 2025, encompassing 26,000 enterprise customers across 17 different industries.
Furthermore, in regulated sectors such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals, it was found that over 50% of Windows and Android devices are operating on outdated system versions. In the education sector, the situation is equally concerning, with over 50% of desktop and mobile devices lacking encryption protection. When it comes to device longevity, enterprises typically regard Mac devices as a six-year investment, whereas Windows devices, on average, have a lifespan of merely three years.
