Since January 1st of this year, the Monacan enterprise Venturi Astronautics has inked a deal with the European Space Agency (ESA) to collaboratively delve into lunar rover technology research, paving the way for Europe's upcoming lunar expeditions. The research zeroes in on driving and mobility technologies tailored for the lunar surface, encompassing suspension systems, ultra-flexible wheels, and more, to guarantee that the lunar rover can adeptly navigate intricate terrains and cope with temperature fluctuations. Concurrently, subsystems like power supply and thermal control management will also undergo scrutiny and validation to ascertain their resilience during the lengthy lunar nights.
