Recently, the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIRI) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has triumphantly accomplished an operational application experiment in satellite-to-ground laser communication, boasting a data transfer rate surpassing 100Gbps, specifically reaching 120Gbps. The experiment demonstrated a remarkably stable communication link and outstanding data download quality. This accomplishment represents a significant leap forward for the team, building upon their prior successes of achieving 10Gbps in 2023 and 60Gbps in 2025. It unequivocally signifies that China has ascended to a new echelon in terms of operational application capabilities within the realm of satellite-to-ground laser communication.
