Driven by a surge in electricity demand, Siemens Energy AG plans to invest US$1 billion (approximately €847 million) in manufacturing capacity in the United States over the next two years. On the 2nd, the German energy infrastructure manufacturer stated that the majority of the funds would be used to expand factories in North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Alabama, and New York, as well as to build a new factory in Mississippi. The investment will focus on the production of gas turbines and grid technologies, including transformer production and operational maintenance services, and is expected to create approximately 1,500 jobs.
