On the morning of January 30th, the 'Tianshan', a colossal 174,000-cubic-meter LNG carrier, was triumphantly handed over. This vessel was independently designed and constructed by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CSSC. The delivery ceremony took place at the Hudong-Zhonghua dock on Changxing Island, Shanghai, with the invaluable support of border inspection and other port-related entities.
The 'Tianshan' boasts the latest generation of dual-fuel low-speed propulsion systems on a global scale. This cutting-edge technology enables a significant reduction in daily carbon emissions, surpassing 10 tons when compared to traditional fuel-powered counterparts. The ship's impressive dimensions include a total length of 295 meters and a breadth of 45 meters, with a deck area comparable to three standard football fields. Furthermore, it is outfitted with the world's foremost liquid cargo containment system, ensuring the secure transportation of liquefied natural gas at temperatures plummeting to minus 163°C.
