On January 28th, Amazon unveiled plans to embark on an organizational restructuring initiative, which will entail the layoff of around 16,000 employees. The majority of those affected are white-collar staff at its U.S. headquarters, though the impact will be felt across multiple regions worldwide. To assist affected U.S. employees, Amazon will provide a 90-day window for internal transfers.
