Rheinmetall AG, Germany's foremost defense contractor, in collaboration with satellite producer Bremen Orbit High-Tech GmbH, intends to submit a joint proposal to supply the German Federal Armed Forces with satellite internet capabilities akin to the United States' "Starlink" system. As per a report published by the UK's Financial Times on the 26th, the potential contract value could soar into the billions of euros. The primary objective is to construct a secure, military-grade satellite communications network in low-Earth orbit, effectively creating a German military variant of "Starlink."
