On December 16, China Energy Engineering Group announced that the first phase of the world's largest integrated green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol project—the "Qingqing No.1" Songyuan Project—officially commenced operations in Songyuan, Jilin Province. This pioneering project incorporates several innovative technologies that not only bridge domestic technological gaps but also offer crucial technical support for China's ambitious endeavors in large-scale hydrogen production and the holistic development of green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol industries. Construction of the project began in September 2023. Upon completion of its first phase, the project is projected to annually produce 45,000 metric tons of green hydrogen, along with 200,000 metric tons of both green ammonia and green methanol. Additionally, it is expected to conserve approximately 600,000 metric tons of standard coal and achieve an impressive annual reduction of 1.4 million metric tons in carbon emissions.
