On Monday, advertising trading platform PubMatic initiated a lawsuit against Alphabet's Google in a federal court located in Virginia. The lawsuit alleges that Google has unlawfully monopolized the advertising technology market and demands billions of dollars in damages. This lawsuit represents the second instance of an advertising trading platform taking legal action against Google, following a federal judge's ruling in April of this year. The judge determined that Google had illegally monopolized two crucial technology markets: advertising trading platforms and ad servers. In April, the judge upheld the claims put forward by the U.S. Department of Justice and several states. Additionally, another trial has been scheduled for this month to ascertain whether Google should divest some of its advertising businesses as a means to rectify its unlawful conduct.
