In response to user reports indicating that Solid State Drives (SSDs) and Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) have become unrecognizable and disconnected during continuous heavy data writes after installing the KB5063878 security update for Windows 11, Microsoft has released a support announcement. The company has stated that it is actively collaborating with storage partners to replicate the issue. However, internal tests have thus far been unable to reproduce the problem, and an analysis of telemetry data has failed to pinpoint the cause.
