On the evening of August 16, local time, in Germany, a Boeing 757-300 passenger aircraft operated by Condor Airlines experienced a fiery incident in its right engine shortly after taking off from Corfu Island, Greece. Accompanied by explosion-like sounds, the pilot swiftly took action, shutting down the malfunctioning engine and stabilizing the aircraft at an altitude of approximately 2,438 meters. Subsequently, the plane diverted its course to Brindisi, Italy, where it landed safely approximately 30 minutes later.

All 273 passengers and 8 crew members, totaling 281 individuals on board, were unharmed in the incident. The exact cause of the engine failure remains under active investigation. Initial video footage captured from the ground does not discount the possibility that the engine may have been struck by a bird.
