According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has deployed a specialized investigative team comprising ten members to the United States Social Security Administration (SSA). The purpose of this mission is to ascertain the existence of so-called "deceased recipients of social security benefits." Musk had previously flagged the possibility that tens of millions of deceased individuals might still be receiving benefits from the US social security system, terming it "the largest Ponzi scheme in history." This investigative team, consisting of four special government employees and six personnel seconded from DOGE, will scrutinize the legitimacy of social security benefit payments. They are empowered to access relevant databases in order to identify potential instances of fraud.
