By 2026, the "StarGate" data center will deploy an impressive 64,000 NVIDIA GB200 chips, with the initial batch of 16,000 expected to arrive by summer 2025. This state-of-the-art facility was a collaborative effort between OpenAI and Oracle, with Oracle taking charge of its operational aspects. Furthermore, OpenAI and the SoftBank team are actively scouting potential sites for future data centers, eyeing locations such as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Oregon, and Salt Lake City.
Previously, US President Trump announced a monumental investment plan, involving Oracle, OpenAI, and the Japanese SoftBank Group. The trio aims to invest $500 billion in establishing the "StarGate" AI infrastructure within the United States, commencing with an initial investment of $100 billion, which is projected to escalate to $500 billion over the course of four years.
