Brookfield Asset Management, the Canadian asset management colossus, has announced an expansion of its AI investment scope from North America into the European market. Over the next five years, the company intends to invest approximately €20 billion in France to develop and construct large-scale data centers and other vital AI infrastructure. This strategic move comes amid heightened competition in the AI sector among global economic powers, including China and the United States. Brookfield's investment plan aligns with French President Macron's European version of the "Gateway to the Stars" initiative, underscoring France's ambitions in building a robust AI infrastructure.
