The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released the 2024 Communications Industry Statistics Bulletin, revealing that the cumulative telecommunications revenue for the year reached RMB 1.74 trillion, marking a 3.2% increase from the previous year. Additionally, the total volume of telecommunications services, measured at the prices of the preceding year, saw a 10% year-on-year growth. In the realm of emerging businesses, such as cloud computing, big data, mobile IoT, and data centers, revenue surged to RMB 434.8 billion, representing a 10.6% year-on-year increase. This growth also resulted in an elevated share from 21.6% to 25%, contributing 2.5 percentage points to the overall expansion of telecommunications revenue. Breaking it down further, revenues from cloud computing, big data, and mobile IoT businesses individually increased by 13.2%, 69.2%, and 13.3%, respectively.
