On January 21, Xie Cun, Director of the Information and Communication Development Department at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), announced at the conference that the department will prioritize "construction, application, and research" in 2025 to propel three significant advancements in the information and communication industry. Firstly, the network infrastructure will undergo an evolution, enhancing the "double gigabit" network strategy, piloting the deployment of 10G optical networks, and refining the distribution of computing power centers. Secondly, integration and application will see an upgrade, centered on the launch of the "Sailing" initiative for 5G applications and an enhanced version of the "5G + Industrial Internet" program to expedite the adoption of next-generation information technology. Lastly, innovation capabilities will be elevated, with increased investment in research and development for 5G evolution and 6G technology, alongside the timely expansion of telecommunications services openness, fostering sustainable and robust growth within the industry.
