At the Space-Based Computing and Intelligent Applications Forum held during the 23rd China National Computer Congress, the CCF-Zhongke Tiansuan Aurora Fund was officially unveiled. This fund is a collaborative effort between the China Computer Federation (CCF) and Zhongke Tiansuan, with the launch ceremony presided over by Liu Yaoqi, a post-95s entrepreneur who serves as the Chairman and CEO of Zhongke Tiansuan. Sun Ninghui, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, graced the occasion and commended the innovative spirit demonstrated by hard-tech enterprises in establishing scientific research funds.
The fund is dedicated to advancing basic research and achieving key technological breakthroughs in the field of space-based computing. It places a strong emphasis on fostering disruptive technology exploration and facilitating engineering applications. The CCF is tasked with organizing project solicitations and conducting expert reviews, while Zhongke Tiansuan focuses on relevant technology development and ecosystem construction, ensuring that scientific research aligns closely with engineering requirements.
For the fiscal year 2026, the fund has outlined 10 research directions and 20 specific research topics. Grants for individual projects range from 200,000 to 300,000 yuan, with a research period of one year. Exceptional projects may be eligible for ongoing support, and qualifying achievements could be granted opportunities for on-orbit satellite validation. The deadline for project applications is November 6, 2026, and the fund welcomes submissions from researchers across the country working in relevant fields.
