A South Korean government representative has announced that, in light of the recent surge in cybersecurity breaches targeting public institutions and financial firms, the nation intends to carry out an extensive vulnerability assessment across roughly 170 key IT infrastructures within the private sector. The Ministry of Science and ICT in South Korea will oversee security evaluations for 111 public entities responsible for managing these facilities, with a particular emphasis on internet-connected systems, including websites and public servers. The comprehensive inspection is projected to conclude no later than the end of this year.
