According to a Bank of America Global Research report, the free cash flow of hyperscale cloud service providers for the next 12 months has dropped below negative $100 billion, with capital expenditures consuming 95% of operating cash flow, as funds historically flow to semiconductor suppliers. In contrast, the free cash flow of the three major semiconductor firms—Nvidia, Micron, and Broadcom—is expected to surge to nearly $500 billion. This significant disparity stems from aggressive infrastructure investments by cloud service providers: cloud giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, and Oracle have substantially increased spending even before realizing related revenues.
