Neocloud service providers and vendors offering open-source model inference services for application developers are fiercely competing in the market, striving to stand out. Take Prime Intellect as an example; this neocloud vendor was valued at $1 billion in a equity financing round in July. To achieve faster speeds and lower costs when running open-source models on Nvidia servers, the company is acquiring a startup. Vincent Weisser, co-founder and CEO of Prime Intellect, revealed that the company will acquire Moondream, a San Francisco-based open-source model development firm with fewer than ten employees.
