NTT Data Group, a subsidiary of Japanese telecom giant NTT, is in talks with U.S. AI company Anthropic to build its first dedicated data center in Osaka, Japan. The project, with a potential cost of up to 1 trillion yen (approximately $6.3 billion) and a maximum power capacity of 500 megawatts, is expected to be partially operational by 2028. This move marks Anthropic's accelerated expansion into the Asian market while helping Japan strengthen its local computing power capabilities and drive its AI strategic development.
