On August 19th, reports surfaced indicating that Samsung Electronics made an announcement on the same day regarding its plans to set up a FläktGroup Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) production line at its operational facility in Gwangju, South Korea. This move is strategically aimed at tapping into the burgeoning HVAC market, with a special focus on advanced cooling solutions tailored for AI data centers.
To achieve this goal, Samsung is set to invest approximately 240 billion won (equivalent to $158 million) in constructing a sprawling production line that spans 21,500 square meters. The project is slated for completion and commencement of operations by 2028. This production line will be dedicated to manufacturing HVAC products under the FläktGroup brand, which Samsung acquired in the previous year. Samsung envisions its HVAC business as a fresh catalyst for growth and is determined to ascend to a position of global leadership in the industry by the year 2030.
