The Swiss Army has made a significant strategic adjustment to its information technology architecture. Considering the deployment requirements of cloud services and aiming to reduce geopolitical dependence on the United States, the Cyber Command of the Swiss Army and its subordinate Cyber and Electromagnetic Operations Department are accelerating their migration to open-source software solutions. According to the latest deployment plan, all employee positions in these departments are expected to complete the switch to the open-source platform OpenDesk by October this year.
