Recently, the Super Node and GW-Class AIDC Technology Forum, concurrent with the semi-annual working session of the OpenAI Infra community, convened in Beijing. During this event, Huawei, alongside over 20 industry chain collaborators, collectively introduced the OPEN NPO initiative and spearheaded the establishment of China’s inaugural NPO optical interconnect MSA. The overarching goal is to foster the creation of an open and standardized near-package optics framework, enhance the collaborative dynamics for open standards within China’s near-package optics sector, and offer robust backing for the advancement of high-end computing infrastructure in the AI age, as well as the construction of an autonomous and open high-speed optical interconnect industry ecosystem.
