On April 21, 2026, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the industrial and information technology development in the first quarter. Zhang Yunming, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that computing infrastructure is the key foundation driving the development of artificial intelligence, with China's intelligent computing capacity reaching 1882 EFLOPS by the end of March. Currently, the Ministry is conducting research on computing-electricity synergy policies and standard formulation to promote high-quality development of the computing industry.
