On April 21, the State Council Information Office convened a press conference to discuss the progress of industrial and information technology in the first quarter of 2026. Xie Cun, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and Director of the Department of Information and Communications Development, outlined the upcoming priorities. These include advancing to a more sophisticated phase of 5G+Industrial Internet integration, bolstering foundational elements, and swiftly introducing guidelines aimed at propelling the industrial internet towards high-quality development. Furthermore, there will be a coordinated push forward on initiatives such as network identification and platform data security, alongside enhancing the development of five key systems: policy frameworks, infrastructure, technological innovation, application scenarios, and ecological environments.
