According to the '2025 Technology Dashboard' report unveiled by the European Patent Office on the 24th, the office received a total of 22,031 patent applications originating from China in 2025. This represents a notable year-on-year surge of 9.7%. China has, for the first time, secured the third spot in the rankings based on the volume of patent applications, boasting the most rapid growth rate among the top ten nations submitting patents. Within these applications, digital communications emerged as the domain with the highest number of patent filings from China. Meanwhile, the transportation and semiconductor sectors witnessed the swiftest expansion, both surpassing a 30% growth rate. In the corporate rankings, Huawei claimed the second position, and CATL made its debut in the top ten.
