China Telecom Forecasts 439 Million Mobile Users by 2025, Ascends to Second Place in China’s Public Cloud IaaS Market

On March 24, China Telecom revealed its projections for 2025, stating that the company's foundational business revenue is expected to hit RMB 330.5 billion, marking a 0.7% year-on-year growth. Specifically, the number of mobile users is anticipated to surge to 439 million, with a 5G network user penetration rate of 68.8%. Meanwhile, broadband users are predicted to reach 201 million, featuring a gigabit user penetration rate of 31.6%. In terms of industrial digitalization, revenue is projected to amount to RMB 147.3 billion, showing a 0.5% year-on-year increase, while resource-based revenue is expected to reach RMB 63 billion, up by 1.1% year-on-year. Strategic emerging businesses are experiencing rapid expansion, with Tianyicloud's revenue set to reach RMB 120.7 billion. Notably, China Telecom has climbed to the second spot in China's public cloud IaaS market, and its IaaS+PaaS market share ranks among the top three in the country. Furthermore, AIDC revenue is forecasted to be RMB 34.5 billion, security revenue RMB 16.6 billion, and intelligent business revenue RMB 12.3 billion. Revenue from video networking, quantum, and satellite businesses is expected to witness year-on-year growth of 31.2%, 65.4%, and 30.7%, respectively.
