On March 24, the State Council Information Office convened a press conference to outline the details surrounding the 9th Digital China Summit. Liu Liehong, Director of the National Data Administration, emphasized that during the 14th Five-Year Plan era, the share of core digital economy industries in GDP is set to rise from 7.8% in 2020 to over 10.5% by 2025, underscoring their essential and foundational role in the national economy. By 2026, the National Data Administration is dedicated to propelling the high-quality advancement of the digital economy, with targeted strategies encompassing:

Firstly, fostering tiered digital industry clusters, leveraging them as holistic platforms to amplify the core competitiveness of the digital economy, facilitating cross-entity and cross-regional data exchange, and fostering profound integration of technological and industrial innovation.

Secondly, nurturing and fortifying innovative enterprises within the digital economy landscape. This year, the National Data Administration, in tandem with entities like the National Development and Reform Commission, will pinpoint a cohort of highly innovative and growth-oriented enterprises for cultivation, offering comprehensive policy support in areas such as computing power, data, scenarios, and funding, tailored to their developmental requirements.

Thirdly, propelling city-wide digital transformation, deepening the evolution of smart cities, initiating city-wide digital transformation pilot initiatives, expediting the digital empowerment of manufacturing, and endorsing the creation of digital transformation empowerment platforms to forge a digital transformation ecosystem characterized by supply-demand alignment, full-chain collaboration, and value creation.
