On Monday, Amazon made a significant announcement: it will channel a staggering $12 billion into the development of new data center campuses, along with the necessary associated infrastructure, in Caddo Parish and Bossier Parish, both situated in the northwestern region of Louisiana. This strategic move is aimed at bolstering its artificial intelligence and cloud computing operations. It is anticipated that these data centers will not only directly create 540 full-time jobs but also indirectly give rise to around 1,700 supporting positions. These supporting roles will encompass a range of professions, such as electricians, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) technicians, and security specialists.
