NextEra Energy has revealed its plans to form a partnership with Google Cloud. The objective is to construct sizable data center campuses and the necessary power infrastructure at various sites throughout the United States. At present, both entities have commenced the construction of the initial three data center campuses and are on the lookout for more appropriate locations. Earlier, in October, the two firms disclosed the resumption of NextEra's nuclear reactor initiative in Iowa. Furthermore, NextEra is teaming up with ExxonMobil to construct natural gas power plants, with the intention of offering carbon capture and storage services to major clients. Presently, the two companies are jointly working on the development of a power plant that could potentially have a capacity of 1.2 gigawatts, with large data centers likely being the intended customers.
